Measuring student learning is always a challenge no matter what the delivery format. The hybrid model gives instructors a range of choices limited only by time, resources and creativity. When thinking about student assessment in a course, it's always a good idea to revisit basics. With that in mind, consider the following steps in developing your assessments.

  • What is it you want your students to learn?
  • What do they already know? Is a pre-test in order to measure prior knowledge?
  • What methods will you use to teach your material?
  • What assessment method will best test what your students learned?
